Emil Grimsson

CEO of Arctic Trucks Polar

Born and raised in Iceland, Emil gained an MBA in the USA. He then took on the role of Marketing Director for Toyota Iceland before being promoted to lead the business as CEO. During this time Emil established the concept of Arctic Trucks, running the new business within the Toyota aegis. In 2005 Emil bought the Arctic Trucks brand, leaving Toyota Iceland (with whom close ties remain) to operate Arctic Trucks as a stand-alone entity. Since then Emil & Arctic Trucks have largely focused on the development of vehicles, equipment and, through Arctic Trucks Polar, operational “know-how” for the Arctic and, especially, the Antarctic. Emil has personally been instrumental in planning and operating 26 Polar expeditions, accompanying 12 of these in the field and accumulating some impressive records and statistics in the high latitudes for Arctic Trucks Polar.
