Private Expeditions

The first crossing of Antarctica was achieved in 1958 by Sir Vivian Fuchs' and Sir Edmund Hillary‘s Trans Antarctic Expedition.  60 years later, Arctic Trucks Polar was only the second party to connect the Ronne and Ross Ice Shelves by vehicle and is proud to follow in the heritage of early Antarctic exploration.

Adventure is an intrinsic element of travel in the high latitudes - perhaps more so than anywhere else on our planet. Modern explorers and adventurers represent a new generation of highly connected individuals, each driven by a personal objective. These, often once-in-a-lifetime, ambitions may include reaching the South Pole by non-powered means, crossing the Antarctic continent, visiting historically significant or previously unexplored locations, or simply experiencing one of the most extreme environments on Earth.

The possibilities are vast. Our role is to help transform these ambitions into reality by delivering a seamless, professional service to support every stage of an expedition - from initial concept and planning through to execution - across both the Arctic and Antarctic.

Our private expeditions are fully bespoke, designed to meet the specific goals of individuals or groups. Each expedition balances the spirit of modern adventure and extreme challenge with best-practice safety standards and expert deep-field logistical support.

Expedition activities may include:

Three people in winter gear standing on off-road vehicles with raised arms on a snowy landscape under a clear blue sky.

South Pole expeditions and continental crossings

Five skiers pulling sleds across a snowy, flat expanse under a clear blue sky.

Alpinism, skiing, and specialised expedition objectives

Fully tailored programmes aligned with individual requirements

We provide a comprehensive planning service, including route design, safety and risk management, contingency planning, permitting, regulatory compliance, and expedition training in Iceland.

Where possible, private expeditions are coordinated alongside our scientific support operations, enabling participants to contribute to environmental and geophysical data collection.

Every mission, regardless of scale or complexity, is designed to maximise safety while achieving expedition objectives and fostering meaningful engagement with the polar regions.
